Shadiyana, a Pakistan-based wedding technology startup, has secured $800,000 in pre-seed funding from Indus Valley Capital to develop its platform and bring structure to the country’s sprawling Rs900 billion (USD 3.21 billion) wedding industry. With over 500,000 users, 600 vendors, and 30,000 weddings planned to date, Shadiyana is expanding beyond Islamabad into Lahore and Karachi, positioning itself as a leading wedding planning platform in Pakistan. The funding will support product enhancement, the introduction of new technology-driven planning tools, and team growth, addressing the longstanding inefficiencies in the wedding ecosystem.
Co-Founder and COO Neelam Shoaib explained that the need for innovation became apparent years ago when she fell ill during her sister’s wedding, experiencing firsthand the exhausting and chaotic nature of planning large-scale events. Years later, she and Co-Founder Izzah Zaman identified an opportunity to create a platform that offers a seamless, end-to-end wedding planning experience. “We get a rush from every new booking,” Shoaib said. “That passion is exactly what’s fueling the Shadiyana Wedding Planner App, built to transform Pakistan’s grand yet inefficient wedding ecosystem into something smart and truly seamless.”
Both founders highlighted that their backgrounds as women, software engineers, and industry outsiders were instrumental in shaping Shadiyana’s approach. Zaman noted that being industry outsiders allowed them to rethink wedding planning from first principles, questioning conventional methods and optimizing resource use. This mindset enabled Shadiyana to create a platform that addresses customer pain points while maintaining operational efficiency. The newly launched Shadiyana Wedding Planner App allows couples to discover, book, and manage vendors from anywhere, providing real-time access to resources and tools, making the entire planning process more transparent, organized, and trustworthy.
Indus Valley Capital Managing Partner Aatif Awan emphasized that Shadiyana’s combination of founder-market fit and customer focus made it a compelling investment. “Shadiyana is bringing order, transparency, and trust to one of Pakistan’s largest but most underserved industries,” Awan said. Looking ahead, Shadiyana plans to grow its vendor network in additional cities, introduce further technology-driven planning solutions, and strengthen its team to support sustained growth. With a market valued in the billions and millions of weddings celebrated annually, Shadiyana is positioned to redefine wedding planning in Pakistan while fostering innovation, efficiency, and collaboration across the sector.
