Canva Workshop Held at NIC Peshawar

Published on

Canva Community Peshawar held a design workshop at NIC Peshawar, bringing together designers, creators, and startup enthusiasts for a session focused on practical design techniques and visual communication. The workshop was structured around the idea that creative skills develop more effectively when practised within a community setting, giving participants the chance to learn alongside peers rather than working through design concepts in isolation.

The session covered ground relevant to both dedicated designers and founders looking to strengthen their own visual communication skills, an increasingly necessary competency for early-stage startups that often lack the resources for a dedicated design function. Participants explored techniques for creating visuals that communicate effectively, with the workshop format encouraging direct exchange of ideas among attendees rather than a one-directional presentation style, reflecting Canva Community Peshawar’s broader emphasis on peer learning within the city’s creative and startup circles.

Hosting the session at NIC Peshawar situated the workshop within the incubation centre’s ongoing programming for its resident startups and surrounding community, adding a design-focused offering to the mix of technical, business, and networking sessions typically available to founders at the centre. The event drew support and association from a wide range of organisations tied to NIC Peshawar’s ecosystem, including Ignite National Technology Fund, Accelerate Prosperity, LMKR, Sybrid, IM Sciences, Rehman Medical Institute, CECOS University, and Frontier Platinum, reflecting the breadth of institutional backing behind the centre’s cohort-based programming.

The workshop forms part of a continuing pattern of skill-building sessions offered through NIC Peshawar, aimed at equipping founders and creators in the region with practical, applicable skills that extend beyond core technical or business training. By bringing design expertise directly into the incubation centre’s community, the session added another dimension to the kind of well-rounded support increasingly expected from incubation programmes working with early-stage ventures.
