TDAP and GIFT University, Gujranwala have signed a Memorandum of Understanding under the Global Horizon Initiative to strengthen linkages between academic learning, entrepreneurship, industry, and export markets. The partnership addresses a gap that often separates academic training from the practical realities of building export-ready businesses, positioning the collaboration as a way to give students more direct exposure to the commercial and international trade dimensions of entrepreneurship.
Under Pillar I, called The Globalist Scholar, the partnership will create practical pathways for students, researchers, and young entrepreneurs through industry engagement, internships, applied research, and export-readiness initiatives. This structure reflects an intent to move students beyond purely theoretical business education into direct engagement with the mechanics of building enterprises capable of eventually competing in international markets, an area where academic curricula often fall short of preparing graduates for the specific demands of export-oriented business.
A distinctive feature of GIFT’s approach is experiential entrepreneurship, spanning ethical business education through its Business on Campus model, where students gain hands-on experience running enterprises and engaging directly with industry. The partnership will build on this existing model by connecting academic talent with Gujranwala’s dynamic industrial base and TDAP’s trade promotion and international market network, giving GIFT’s students a direct link between their campus-based entrepreneurial training and the broader industrial and export infrastructure operating in the surrounding region.
Through the Global Horizon Initiative, TDAP is bringing complementary strengths into Pakistan’s export ecosystem by connecting knowledge with enterprise, enterprise with industry, and commercially viable ideas with markets. The partnership adds to a growing pattern of Pakistani universities forming direct institutional links with trade and export promotion bodies, reflecting a broader recognition that building a genuinely export-oriented entrepreneurship pipeline requires closer coordination between academic training, regional industrial capacity, and the international market access organisations like TDAP are specifically positioned to provide.
