LABX held a two day Capital Readiness Bootcamp bringing together founders for an intensive programme focused on sharpening their pitches, mastering valuation and preparing their ventures to scale. Over the course of the two days, participants worked directly with four master trainers, each bringing a different area of expertise relevant to the fundraising and investment process, giving founders exposure to a range of perspectives on what it takes to become genuinely capital ready.
The trainers leading the bootcamp included Merai Syed, described as a startup ecosystem expert, Bilal Farooq Khan, Founder and Innovation Lead at Innovate X, Osman Ahmed, Partner at Accelerating Asia Ventures, and Syed Saifullah Kazmi, Head of Investment Banking at IGI Finex Securities Limited. This combination of backgrounds, spanning ecosystem building, startup founding, venture investing and formal investment banking, gave the bootcamp a mix of perspectives covering both the founder side of fundraising and the more technical, deal structuring side that founders often encounter later in their capital raising journey.
The bootcamp’s focus on pitch refinement and valuation reflects two of the areas founders most commonly struggle with when approaching investors, where a strong product alone is often not enough to secure funding without a clear, well reasoned articulation of the company’s worth and its case for investment. By pairing these two areas within a single intensive programme, LABX appears to have structured the bootcamp around addressing the practical gaps that frequently separate promising startups from those that are able to close funding rounds successfully.
LABX operates as part of the broader ecosystem supported by Ignite National Technology Fund, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, NETSOL Technologies, the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park, Air University and Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra, reflecting an institutional backing that spans both civilian technology development and aerospace sector interests. This combination of backers points to LABX’s positioning within a broader innovation ecosystem tied to aerospace and advanced technology sectors, alongside its more general work supporting startup founders.
With the bootcamp now complete, the founders who took part are expected to apply the skills developed over the two days as they move toward engaging investors more directly, carrying forward the pitch and valuation groundwork built during the sessions with LABX’s trainers into their own fundraising efforts in the months ahead.
