Qatar Development Bank has opened applications for its Pre-Accelerator Program 2026, targeting early stage startups looking to expand into Qatar, the wider GCC or the broader MENA region. The programme runs for eight weeks in a hybrid format, combining online sessions with an in person phase in Doha, with accommodation covered for participants travelling to Qatar for that portion of the programme.
Startups selected for the programme stand to receive up to 75,000 dollars in investment from Qatar Development Bank, along with one to one mentorship and coaching intended to help founders refine their business and product strategy. The programme also includes go to market and investment readiness support, preparing participants for the kind of scrutiny they are likely to face when engaging with investors more formally. Selected startups are given the opportunity to pitch directly to Qatar Development Bank’s Investment Committee, giving them a direct path toward securing the bank’s backing rather than working through intermediaries.
The programme is open to early stage startups with a minimum viable product or early stage product, regardless of whether they have generated revenue or secured prior funding. This lowers the barrier to entry for startups still in the process of validating their product, rather than restricting the opportunity to companies that have already demonstrated commercial traction. Applicants are required to be willing to establish or operate from Qatar, reflecting the programme’s underlying goal of building out Qatar’s domestic startup ecosystem alongside supporting individual founders.
Applications for the Pre-Accelerator Program 2026 are open until September 5, 2026, giving interested founders roughly a month to prepare and submit their applications. The programme is run in connection with the Qatar Business Incubation Center and F6S, positioning it within a broader network of institutional support aimed at attracting international founders to build within Qatar’s growing startup infrastructure.
For founders working on early stage ventures with ambitions to expand into the Gulf or wider Middle East and North Africa markets, programmes like this one offer a structured entry point backed by direct access to a national development bank’s investment committee, a combination that gives selected startups both capital and a credible institutional relationship as they look to establish themselves in a new regional market.
