Applications are now open for the Commonwealth Startup Fellowship 2026, a six month programme designed for founders from eligible Commonwealth countries whose startups have moved beyond the idea or pilot stage. The fellowship is aimed at founders who have already established a functioning business rather than those still validating an early concept, positioning it as a growth stage programme for ventures with demonstrated traction.
To be eligible, applicants must run a startup that is legally registered, has been operating for at least 12 months, is serving paying customers, and is showing ongoing adoption and commercial traction while preparing for its next stage of growth. This set of criteria filters for startups that have moved past initial product validation and are actively working through the operational and commercial challenges associated with scaling an established business.
The programme includes pre-bootcamp workshops and one to one support, followed by a two week bootcamp held in Accra, Ghana. Participants then continue through online programming and business coaching, along with venture review sessions intended to assess and guide their progress, before the fellowship concludes with a capstone event in London. This structure combines an immersive, in person bootcamp experience with sustained remote support over the course of the six month programme, giving participants both concentrated learning periods and ongoing engagement between those sessions.
Applications for the fellowship are open from August 3 to September 1, 2026, giving prospective applicants a defined window to prepare and submit their materials. An Applicant Information Session is scheduled for August 25, 2026, giving interested founders a chance to learn more about the fellowship, its eligibility requirements and the application process directly from programme organisers before the application deadline.
For founders in Pakistan working on startups with established commercial traction and Commonwealth eligibility, the fellowship offers a structured pathway to international mentorship, business coaching and exposure to a broader network of founders across Commonwealth countries, backed by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
