NIC Hyderabad will host the Azadi Awards 2026 on August 13, bringing together its startup community for an afternoon centred on recognition, celebration and competitive pitching, timed to coincide with Pakistan’s Independence Day. The event is framed around celebrating the founders building, creating and shaping what comes next for the country, positioning the awards as both a celebration of national independence and a tribute to the entrepreneurs contributing to Pakistan’s economic future.
Nominated startups from within the NIC Hyderabad ecosystem will pitch before a panel of judges, with awards presented across a range of categories designed to reflect the diversity of ideas and industries represented within the incubation centre’s community. The event’s categories include e-commerce, shared economy, fintech, agritech, edtech, health tech and AI, giving the awards a broad scope that spans consumer facing platforms as well as more technically specialised sectors.
This range of categories allows NIC Hyderabad to recognise excellence across markedly different types of startups rather than applying a single evaluative standard across the board, acknowledging that the metrics for impact and success in agritech differ substantially from those relevant to a fintech or AI focused venture. Structuring the awards this way also gives founders working in less conventional or emerging categories, such as agritech or the shared economy, a dedicated pathway to recognition rather than competing directly against more commonly represented sectors like e-commerce or fintech.
The event is scheduled to run from 12 PM to 3 PM on August 13, 2026, at NIC Hyderabad, giving the pitching and award presentation format a defined three hour window. Framing the event around 79 years of independence adds a symbolic dimension to the awards, linking the recognition of individual entrepreneurial achievement to the broader national milestone being marked on the same day.
The Azadi Awards 2026 are supported by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ignite National Technology Fund, PTCL, LMKT and Tech Destination Pakistan, consistent with the institutional backing behind NIC Hyderabad’s regular programming. The event adds to a series of Independence Day themed initiatives NIC Hyderabad has run across its ecosystem this month, reflecting a broader effort to connect the centre’s founder community with the national moment being celebrated.
