Pakistani Startup AIDE AI Automates Handwritten Exam Assessments

Published on

AIDE AI, founded by Ansar Moughis, is using artificial intelligence to automate the evaluation of handwritten exam assessments, a process that has traditionally relied on manual grading and consumed significant time and resources within educational institutions. The startup has built its core offering around applying AI models to read, interpret and score handwritten responses, aiming to make large-scale assessment faster and more consistent.

The company has already processed more than 8 million exam papers, a figure that points to substantial adoption and suggests the technology is being used at meaningful scale rather than remaining confined to pilot projects. Handling handwritten content at this volume requires the underlying AI systems to reliably interpret varied handwriting styles and formats, a technically demanding task that has historically limited automation efforts in this space.

By targeting assessment evaluation specifically, AIDE AI addresses a persistent operational bottleneck faced by schools, universities and examination bodies across Pakistan, where large student populations and limited grading capacity often slow down the release of results. The startup’s approach reflects a broader shift among Pakistani technology companies toward building AI tools that solve narrow, well-defined problems within sectors such as education, rather than pursuing broad, generalized applications of the technology.

As AIDE AI continues to scale its processing capacity, its progress offers an example of how artificial intelligence is being applied within Pakistan’s education sector to improve efficiency in areas that have traditionally depended on manual, labor-intensive processes.
