Amplifick Helps Pakistani Engineers Build Hardware Through 3D Printing Labs

Published on

Amplifick, a startup founded by Asjad Haroon, is working to help young engineers and students in Pakistan move their ideas from concept to finished hardware product, using advanced 3D printing labs as the core of its offering. The startup positions itself as a bridge between early stage design work and physical prototyping, giving students and young engineers access to equipment and processes that are typically difficult to reach outside of larger institutions or well funded labs.

The company’s model centres on taking an idea through the stages of design, prototyping, and final production, with 3D printing technology serving as the primary tool that allows users to test and refine their concepts before arriving at a finished product. This kind of access has traditionally been limited in Pakistan, where hardware focused startups often face higher barriers to entry compared to software ventures, given the added cost and complexity involved in physical manufacturing and prototyping.

Asjad Haroon, as Founder of Amplifick, has framed the startup’s work around enabling a generation of young Pakistani engineers to build tangible products rather than remaining confined to conceptual or digital work. By offering access to 3D printing infrastructure, Amplifick is positioning itself within a segment of Pakistan’s startup ecosystem that remains relatively underdeveloped compared to software and services based startups, one that requires more capital intensive setups and specialised technical expertise to operate.

The announcement referencing Amplifick was shared alongside acknowledgements of Ignite National Technology Fund, Ministry Of IT and Telecommunication, NETSOL Technologies, National Aerospace Science and Technology Park, Air University, and Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra, pointing to a set of institutional and industry stakeholders associated with hardware and technology development in Pakistan. The mention of National Aerospace Science and Technology Park in particular suggests a connection between Amplifick’s work and the aerospace and advanced manufacturing ecosystem that has been developing around that facility.

Haroon’s advice to young Pakistanis, shared as part of the announcement, centred on encouraging students and aspiring engineers to pursue their ideas with confidence, a message that ties into Amplifick’s broader positioning as a startup built to lower the barriers between having an idea and producing a working hardware version of it. The startup’s focus on 3D printing labs as accessible infrastructure suggests an effort to make hardware development more attainable for a wider group of engineering students across the country, rather than restricting such capability to established manufacturing firms or well resourced institutions.
