The Pakistan Women Leaders Programme has extended its application deadline by two weeks, with the new closing date now set for the twenty eighth of August, twenty twenty six, giving prospective applicants additional time to complete and submit their applications. The Pakistan Women Leaders Project is a thirty four month initiative aimed at enhancing women’s leadership and political participation across the country, working to identify, mobilise, and support women through structured training, mentorship, and sustained engagement across forty district clusters spanning Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Islamabad Capital Territory. The project’s objective centres on helping women build the skills, confidence, and networks needed to take on stronger roles in public and political life, addressing barriers that have historically limited women’s representation in leadership and decision making positions across Pakistan.
According to the programme’s own materials, women in Pakistan continue to face structural obstacles in political and public life, including social norms, weak support systems, limited professional networks, and institutional barriers that collectively hold back many women who have the ability to lead but lack consistent access to the pathways that would allow them to do so. The Pakistan Women Leaders Programme has been designed specifically to address these gaps, offering participants a combination of skill building, mentorship, and access to an alumnae network intended to provide continued support and shared learning well beyond the programme’s active training period.
The extended deadline gives applicants who have not yet submitted their forms an additional window to do so, with organisers specifically encouraging those who have started but not completed their applications to use the extra time to finish the process.
