NIC Islamabad welcomed Tariq Khan, President of OPEN Global, and Sidra Jalil, President of OPEN Islamabad, along with Salman Beg, Secretary of OPEN Karachi, during their visit to Islamabad, giving the incubator an opportunity to showcase how it supports founders in building, growing, and expanding their ventures beyond local markets. The visit brought together leadership from OPEN’s global network with NIC Islamabad’s founder community, creating a direct point of connection between the incubator and an organisation with established international reach.
Project Director Sayyed Ahmad Masud shared an overview of NIC Islamabad’s work with the delegation, walking them through the incubator’s ecosystem and the support it provides to founders through mentorship, industry connections, growth opportunities, and access to a wider entrepreneurial network. This briefing gave the visiting OPEN representatives a clearer picture of how NIC Islamabad structures its incubation model for the startups it supports.
The delegation also met directly with NIC Islamabad’s founders, who pitched their startups and showcased their products, highlighting ventures that have gained recognition nationally and are positioned with the potential to compete in global markets. This direct engagement gave OPEN’s leadership firsthand exposure to the specific companies within NIC Islamabad’s current cohort, potentially identifying startups that could benefit from OPEN’s international network of mentors and business leaders.
Muazima Batool Agha, Growth Manager at NIC Islamabad, further shared insights into the incubator’s founder support and growth initiatives while introducing the delegation to NIC Islamabad’s facilities and broader ecosystem. Her involvement added an additional layer of detail to the visit, giving the OPEN delegation a more complete picture of the physical and operational infrastructure supporting the incubator’s founders.
As OPEN Global connects Pakistani entrepreneurs across major entrepreneurial hubs in the United States, United Kingdom, and Pakistan, the visit created a meaningful bridge between Islamabad’s emerging founders and a global community of entrepreneurs, business leaders, and mentors. The event was supported by Ministry Of IT and Telecommunication, Tech Destination Pakistan, and Ignite National Technology Fund, reflecting the institutional network tied to NIC Islamabad’s ongoing programming, with the visit adding to a broader pattern of engagement between Pakistan’s domestic incubation ecosystem and international entrepreneurial networks looking to identify ventures capable of scaling into global markets.
