IU-CORE at Iqra University is hosting a session titled Basics of Entrepreneurship and Business Models, and Business Planning, scheduled for the twenty seventh of August, twenty twenty six, running from four in the afternoon until half past five, at the university’s main campus. The session, part of Cohort 4’s programming, will be led by Muhammad Salik Khan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Quanrio, and is designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs understand how ideas can be transformed into successful ventures.
The session’s dual focus on business models and business planning gives participants a foundational understanding of two closely related but distinct concepts central to early stage venture development. Business model education typically covers how a company creates, delivers, and captures value, while business planning addresses the more structured process of mapping out the specific steps, resources, and milestones needed to bring a venture to life.
Khan’s role as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Quanrio brings direct entrepreneurial experience to the session, positioning him to speak to both the theoretical frameworks around business modelling and the practical realities of translating an idea into an operating business. This combination of firsthand founder experience alongside structured educational content reflects a common approach used across university based entrepreneurship centres in Pakistan.
The session is aimed at Cohort 4 participants specifically, continuing IU-CORE’s pattern of structuring its programming around distinct cohorts moving through progressively building entrepreneurial knowledge and skills. This particular session addresses foundational concepts likely positioned early within the cohort’s broader curriculum, given its focus on basics rather than more advanced topics such as fundraising or scaling strategies.
IU-CORE, operating as Iqra University’s Centre of Research and Entrepreneurship, has continued to organise sessions aimed at building foundational business and strategic thinking skills among students and aspiring entrepreneurs on campus. The session adds to a broader pattern of university based entrepreneurship centres across Pakistan offering structured, practical training aimed at helping students move from conceptual ideas toward more formalised business planning and understanding of core business model fundamentals.
