The OPEN Karachi Board and newly inducted Charter Members came together on the twenty second of August, twenty twenty six, at HUM Network Head Office, joined by Tariq Khan, President of OPEN Global, as he concluded his engagements with OPEN chapters across Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore. The meeting brought together the chapter’s leadership at a point marking the culmination of Khan’s broader tour connecting with OPEN’s various city chapters across Pakistan.
The meeting reflected on OPEN Karachi’s progress and the road ahead, covering strengthening the chapter’s leadership, growing its Charter Member community, and building partnerships with six universities. These partnerships extend OPEN Karachi’s reach into academic institutions, creating pathways for students and researchers to connect with the chapter’s broader entrepreneurial network beyond conventional business and industry circles.
A structured mentorship programme was also discussed, aimed at connecting entrepreneurs in Pakistan with OPEN’s global network of seventeen chapters. This mentorship structure formalises what has often been a more informal aspect of OPEN’s global network, giving Pakistani entrepreneurs a defined pathway to access mentorship and connections from OPEN members based internationally.
Looking ahead, the Board discussed plans for the second edition of Celebrating Pakistan Week, scheduled to take place in Karachi during the last week of December 2026. This continuation of the event, following an apparent first edition, suggests the initiative has gained enough traction within OPEN Karachi’s community to warrant becoming a recurring fixture on the chapter’s calendar.
The Board also extended congratulations to OPEN Karachi Chairperson Sultana Siddiqui on being conferred the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, recognising her outstanding contribution to Pakistan’s media and creative industries. This recognition adds further profile to OPEN Karachi’s leadership, with Siddiqui’s award reflecting the broader pattern of individuals connected to Pakistan’s entrepreneurial and creative ecosystem receiving national civil honours this year. As OPEN Karachi continues to grow, the chapter’s stated focus remains on bringing together entrepreneurs, professionals, academia, and the global Pakistani community to create meaningful connections and opportunities.
