Farzana Ishfaq, a participant in Cohort 3 of the Startup Launchpad Pre-Incubation Bootcamp at Business Incubation Center, University of Peshawar, presented her startup Fairy Second Stitch before a panel of professional judges on Final Pitch Day. The name of her venture suggests a business built around giving fabric or garments a genuine second life, a concept that touches on the growing global interest in circular fashion and textile reuse, an area that has received comparatively little dedicated attention within Pakistan’s own startup ecosystem despite the country’s deep, established textile manufacturing base.
Ishfaq’s pitch came after three days of learning, refining, and preparing her idea, a compressed but intensive timeline that reflects the bootcamp’s specific pre-incubation format, designed to move participants from an early concept through to a structured, presentable pitch in a matter of days rather than the months typically associated with fuller incubation programs. That shorter cycle places real pressure on participants to iterate quickly, forcing founders like Ishfaq to test and refine core assumptions about their business under genuine time constraints rather than the more gradual development pace many incubation tracks allow for.
Following her presentation, Ishfaq shared her experience from the bootcamp and expressed hope of being selected for the next stage of the program, a sentiment that reflects the genuine uncertainty built into any competitive pre-incubation pitch, where participants have invested real effort over a short but intensive window without any guarantee of advancing further. BIC Peshawar framed the moment within a broader philosophy that treats every step, from initial idea through to the pitch itself, as a meaningful part of the entrepreneurial journey regardless of the eventual selection outcome, a framing that gives participants who may not advance a sense that their bootcamp experience still held genuine value.
The Startup Launchpad Pre-Incubation Bootcamp continues BIC Peshawar’s broader role as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, following earlier cohorts that have moved through similar structured pitching processes and regulatory training, including sessions with Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan on startup registration and compliance for earlier cohorts. Cohort 3’s Final Pitch Day adds to that ongoing pipeline of participants moving from raw idea toward increasingly structured startup development, continuing BIC’s institutional identity as a joint collaboration between IM Sciences and Higher Education Commission built specifically to serve entrepreneurs across the province.
