NIC Islamabad Closes Investor Readiness Programme With Due Diligence Session

National Incubation Center Islamabad closed its Investor Readiness Programme on 16 September with the Due Diligence Readiness Workshop, the fourth and final session in the series, built around a distinction founders often overlook, that the pitch is what gets an investor’s attention while due diligence is where the details actually get checked. Framing the two as fundamentally different tests reflects a common pattern where founders pour disproportionate energy into perfecting a pitch deck while treating the far more consequential due diligence stage as something to figure out only once an investor has already expressed serious interest.

The session walked founders through the specific categories of information investors may request during due diligence, spanning cap tables and financial records to customer contracts, founder agreements, tax documents, and other key company records. Covering this breadth of documentation in a single session gave founders a genuinely comprehensive checklist rather than a partial view focused narrowly on financials alone, since gaps in founder agreements or customer contracts can just as easily stall a deal as incomplete financial statements.

Organizers were explicit that the goal was not simply to help founders understand the due diligence process conceptually but to get them genuinely ready for it in practice. Each team worked through its own data room directly, identifying what documentation was already in place, mapping what was still missing, assigning specific responsibilities within the founding team, and setting timelines to close those gaps before an actual investor conversation reached this stage. That structure treated due diligence readiness as an operational project with clear ownership rather than an abstract box to check once a term sheet finally arrived.

The session was led by Ahad Wazir, giving founders what NIC Islamabad described as a practical view of what investors actually look for once they move beyond the pitch itself and into direct verification of a company’s claims. With four workshops now complete, spanning financial projections and unit economics through investor narrative and pitch deck building to this final due diligence session, NIC Islamabad’s founders now face what organizers framed as the one remaining room to enter, meeting investors directly on 29 September at Investor Summit 2026. The programme was supported throughout by Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Tech Destination Pakistan, and Ignite National Technology Fund.
