A cohort of 21 sustainable businesses has completed the in-person technical training component of Accelerate Prosperity’s Certification in Sustainable Innovation, a program specifically designed for businesses building green and greening solutions. Rather than targeting early-stage founders broadly, CSI is aimed at helping already-operating sustainability-focused businesses strengthen their business models, improve sustainability performance, and prepare for financing, positioning the program as a bridge between founders who already have a working green business and the more formal capital structures that could help them scale.
The training was delivered in partnership with Rausing Executive Development Centre at LUMS’s Suleman Dawood School of Business, an executive education institution with more than 35 years of experience and a portfolio that engaged over 2,500 professionals including more than 400 C-suite executives in the past fiscal year alone. Pairing Accelerate Prosperity’s sustainability and impact investment expertise with REDC’s executive education infrastructure gives the CSI cohort access to a caliber of structured business training that early-stage green businesses in Pakistan rarely encounter, typically reserved for senior corporate leadership rather than founders of smaller sustainability ventures.
The curriculum spanned climate change and response strategies, ESG standards and business model innovation, agricultural sustainability, climate finance, and carbon footprint measurement and resource efficiency, with a central focus throughout on how businesses can grow profitably while simultaneously improving their environmental performance. That framing pushes back against a common assumption that sustainability commitments necessarily come at the cost of commercial growth, instead treating environmental performance and profitability as complementary objectives businesses can pursue together with the right frameworks and financial structuring.
Participating businesses named in the cohort include CarbonFora, Pak Gharo Agri and Livestock Farms, AquaTech Fisheries, Greenfield Organics, Sahara Recycling, Digital Kabari, and SAWIE Ecosystems, spanning agriculture, aquaculture, waste management, and recycling sectors. Having completed the technical training, participants will now pitch to Accelerate Prosperity for financing consideration, after which selected businesses will receive one-on-one advisory support, while high-potential businesses will be considered for Accelerate Prosperity’s patient-debt financing, a funding structure built to accommodate the longer commercialization timelines sustainability-focused ventures often require compared with more conventional startups.
