National Incubation Center Faisalabad is hosting an Investor Pitch Practice and Review Workshop featuring Shakir Aslam, CFA, CAIA, an Associate at Amana Capital, built around a premise that many early-stage founders underestimate, that a polished pitch deck alone does not make a founder investment-ready without the practice and understanding of investor expectations to back it up. Bringing in a CFA and CAIA charter holder from an active investment firm gives the session a level of technical credibility on the investor side that generic pitch coaching, often delivered by trainers without direct capital markets experience, typically lacks.
The workshop is structured around actual pitch practice rather than theoretical instruction alone, giving founders the chance to deliver their pitch and receive direct feedback in real time, a format that surfaces gaps in a founder’s narrative or numbers far more effectively than reviewing a deck on paper. Alongside the practice component, the session focuses on strengthening each founder’s investment narrative, helping them move from simply describing their business to framing it in the terms investors actually evaluate opportunities against, including growth trajectory, market size, and return potential.
A central part of the workshop addresses understanding investor expectations specifically, an area where founders often misjudge what matters most to the person across the table, assuming enthusiasm about the product will carry the conversation when investors are typically weighing risk, timing, and comparable opportunities instead. Having someone from Amana Capital walk founders through that perspective directly, rather than relying on secondhand advice, gives NIC Faisalabad’s founders a more accurate read on what separates a pitch that gets a follow-up meeting from one that does not.
With backing from the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication and Ignite National Technology Fund, the workshop continues NIC Faisalabad’s push to prepare founders for the specific mechanics of investor conversations rather than treating pitch readiness as a single generic skill, giving participants a clearer, more practiced sense of how to present their venture with the confidence and precision that fundraising conversations demand.
