CEGA Lahore hosted Indie Gaming Eve in collaboration with IGDA Pakistan, bringing together the city’s indie game development community for an afternoon centered on playable builds, hands on testing, developer stories and conversations about advancing Pakistani games further. The event drew between 80 and 90 attendees, including indie developers, studios, aspiring creators and industry professionals, all gathered to play, connect, learn and explore new pathways for their projects within Pakistan’s growing game development ecosystem.
At the center of the event was indie game playtesting inside CEGA’s Rendering Lab, where developers brought their games directly to attendees for hands on play and immediate feedback, creating a rare opportunity for creators to test their work in front of a live audience of peers and industry professionals. Alongside the playtesting sessions, a dedicated networking space allowed developers and studios to connect with one another, exchange ideas, find potential collaborators and meet directly with the CEGA team, reinforcing the event’s emphasis on building lasting relationships within the local indie gaming community rather than one off interactions.
The event also featured developer and industry sessions where speakers shared real experiences, lessons and challenges from working across Pakistan’s game development landscape. Speakers included Syed Muhammad Mehdi Rizvi of Tornet Co., Ali Raza of TARC Solutions, Muhammad Qasim of Factorial Studio, technical artist Gohar Munir, Ubaid Ullah and Uzair Abrar of Furistic, and members of the ACEDIA team including Hassan Naveed and Muhammad Imtinan Ul Haq. A dedicated session also explored CEGA’s incubation program in detail, walking indie developers through the application process, program structure and the support available to incoming cohorts, giving attendees a clearer path toward formalizing and scaling their game projects.
The event was hosted by Saadaan Waqar and Nimra Sardar of IGDA Lahore, with additional community contributions from Syed Ahmed Ejaz and Hira Fatima of Heritage Arc Studios and Mubeen Iqbal of Voodoo. CEGA extended its thanks to IGDA Pakistan for collaborating on the event and helping bring together the indie game community, underscoring a continued push to strengthen connections between Pakistan’s aspiring game developers, established studios and the incubation support systems designed to help them grow.
