NIC Lahore will host an interactive session titled Go Global, How HBL Powers Tech Expansion, on Thursday from 3:30 PM to 4:40 PM, open to the public and aimed at entrepreneurs, startups and anyone interested in taking their business international. The session will explore how financial solutions and strategic support can help tech driven businesses expand beyond Pakistan’s borders and tap into opportunities in global markets, an area where many founders often struggle to find the right guidance or financial backing.
The session will feature Umar Zia Khan, Head of Emerging Businesses and Remittances at HBL, who will share insights on how the bank supports technology companies as they look to scale internationally. His presence brings a banking perspective to a conversation that founders often approach primarily from a product or market angle, giving attendees a chance to understand the financial infrastructure and support mechanisms that can make international expansion more achievable.
By opening the session to the public rather than limiting it to NIC Lahore’s own incubated founders, the event aims to reach a wider segment of Pakistan’s startup and entrepreneurial community, including those not yet part of a formal incubation programme. This broader access reflects a recognition that questions about going global, from financial structuring to remittances and cross border payments, are relevant to a wide range of growing businesses, not only those already inside an incubator.
The session is supported by the Ministry of IT and Telecom, Pakistan Software Export Board, Ignite National Technology Fund and NETSOL Technologies, alongside academic and ecosystem organizations including Beaconhouse National University, the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Plug and Play Tech Center and Daftarkhwan.
