NIC Karachi welcomed a delegation from the University of Sindh for an interactive visit centered on innovation, entrepreneurship and the wider startup ecosystem. The visit gave students and faculty a firsthand look at how a national incubation center operates day to day, offering a level of exposure that classroom learning alone rarely provides.

During the visit, the delegation explored how NIC Karachi supports technology startups and the role incubation plays in transforming early ideas into scalable ventures. Discussions also touched on how students can take their own academic projects and innovative ideas beyond the classroom, a theme that speaks directly to a common gap where promising student work never progresses past a final year project or research paper into something with real world application.

The session featured an engaging question and answer segment, with students and faculty actively discussing startup development, incubation and the opportunities available within the ecosystem. This kind of direct exchange allowed attendees to raise specific questions about their own ideas or academic work, rather than simply absorbing a general overview of what an incubator does, giving the visit a more practical, tailored quality.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to connect academia with the startup ecosystem and encourage students to see entrepreneurship as a genuine pathway for turning their skills, ideas and projects into ventures with real impact. NIC Karachi continues to receive support from the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan, Tech Destination Pakistan and Ignite National Technology Fund, along with private sector collaborators LMKT, LuckyOne Mall and Orbit Ventures.
