Ignite National Technology Fund, operating under the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan, has earned international recognition as its National Incubation Centers initiative was named 1st Prize Winner for the Digital Policy and Regulatory Excellence Award at the CTO Digital Excellence Awards 2026 in London. The win places Pakistan’s national incubation programme on a notably public international stage, recognizing not a single startup or founder but the policy and institutional framework behind the entire NIC network.
This recognition reflects the vision behind Ignite’s NIC Program, which aims to build a nationwide innovation ecosystem where aspiring entrepreneurs can transform ideas into scalable businesses, gain access to mentorship and technology, build out their business capabilities, connect with investors, and pursue opportunities for sustainable growth. Winning a policy focused award specifically, rather than one centered on an individual startup’s commercial success, suggests the judges were evaluating the underlying regulatory and institutional design that allows the NIC network to function at a national scale, rather than any single success story emerging from it.
Through its network of National Incubation Centers, Ignite has worked to create pathways for young innovators, technology founders and startups to develop solutions, build more resilient enterprises, generate economic opportunities, and contribute to Pakistan’s digital economy. The CTO Digital Excellence Awards, held in London, draw submissions from a wide international pool, which makes a 1st Prize finish for a government backed incubation policy initiative a meaningful marker of how Pakistan’s approach to supporting entrepreneurship is being perceived by an international panel of judges evaluating digital policy frameworks from around the world.
The achievement also reflects the continued commitment of the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication and Ignite to building entrepreneurship, supporting innovation, building up the startup ecosystem, and enabling Pakistani talent to compete on the global stage. Ignite extended its congratulations to the entire NIC ecosystem, including its startups, mentors, collaborators and teams, whose collective contributions it credited with shaping the broader innovation journey that this London award now formally recognizes.
