NIC Hyderabad and FAO Launch FoodPreneurs 2026 for World Food Day

Published on

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, in collaboration with NIC Hyderabad, is bringing FoodPreneurs 2026 to mark World Food Day, a celebration of bold food ideas, sustainable solutions and the people shaping the future of food. Held under the theme Innovate Today, Nourish Tomorrow, the event calls on food innovators, entrepreneurs and changemakers to come together around a shared focus on where the food industry is headed next.

The event is designed to bring together a genuinely broad mix of participants, including food entrepreneurs, young innovators, students, farmers, academia and industry, giving the gathering a cross-section of voices that span the full food value chain rather than limiting the conversation to any single group. By pulling farmers and academics into the same room as entrepreneurs and industry players, FoodPreneurs 2026 aims to surface ideas and connections that might not otherwise emerge if these groups engaged with food innovation separately.

Attendees have two ways to take part. Those joining as participants can connect, learn, explore and be inspired by what others are building in the food space, while those joining as contestants can put their own food product in the spotlight, sharing the story behind it and competing for recognition across categories including innovation, sustainability, nutrition, taste, use of local ingredients, market potential and presentation. This dual format gives both passive attendees and active food entrepreneurs a meaningful way to engage with the event, whether they come to observe or to be evaluated.

Interested participants can scan the event’s QR code to register, with NIC Hyderabad continuing to position events like FoodPreneurs 2026 within its broader push to connect local innovators with larger institutional platforms, in this case one backed by a United Nations agency. The event is supported by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan, Ignite National Technology Fund, PTCL, LMKT and Tech Destination Pakistan.
