NIC Islamabad Founders Complete Founder Institute With 60 Second Hot Seat Pitches

Published on

Founders at National Incubation Center Islamabad have completed the Founder Institute program, marking the end of one structured stage of their startup journey and the start of the next. The completion event brought the cohort together for a 60 second Hot Seat Pitch, a format that asks founders to present their startup in one minute and respond to challenge in front of mentors. A pitch that short leaves no room for filler, so it tests whether a founder can state what the company does, who it serves, and why it matters before attention drifts.

Four mentors joined the founders to celebrate the milestone and hear the pitches, Anna Leshchuk, Karin Jork-Wellbrock, Shahzaib Z., and Moon Amir. Having mentors from different backgrounds in the room gives founders feedback from several angles at once, which is useful for startups that have spent months refining their ideas inside a single program and now need to see how their message lands with people who are hearing it fresh. For many founders, the Hot Seat format is also practice for the real conditions of investor meetings, where time is limited and questions come quickly.

NIC Islamabad was clear that completion does not mean the work stops. The center described the milestone as a transition into the next phase of incubation, with a continued focus on market access, investment readiness, training, coaching, and taking startups forward. That sequencing matters, because the Founder Institute curriculum is built around the early, foundational work of testing ideas and structuring a company, while the later phase concentrates on the harder commercial tasks of reaching customers and raising capital.

The completion event also fits into a busy stretch for NIC Islamabad, which recently held its Cohort 4 graduation ceremony, hosted the final judging round for Cohort 5 of its Acceleration Program, and opened a PKR 5 million equity-free grant call for Ignite-funded center graduates. Operating with backing from the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, Tech Destination Pakistan, and Ignite National Technology Fund, the center is using these steps to build a continuous path from early incubation through to acceleration and investor engagement, giving founders who finish the Founder Institute a clearer view of what comes next.
