National Incubation Center Hyderabad has hosted a session titled The People Behind the Startup, in which Jahangir Ansari, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nettax, took founders through the legal considerations that come with building and growing a business. The session started from a simple idea, that the decisions behind a startup can be as important as the idea itself. Who a founder builds with, how equity is divided, when talent is brought in and how the business is structured can all shape its future, and the incubator wanted its startups to understand these choices clearly before they become costly to change.
The discussion gave founders practical legal insight into four areas that most early stage teams face sooner or later. These were co-founder relationships, equity distribution, talent decisions and the challenges that come with scaling. Questions around who owns what, how responsibilities are shared between co-founders and how a growing team should be brought on board are rarely settled by enthusiasm alone, and disputes over them have ended promising ventures in Pakistan and elsewhere. By putting these topics in front of founders at an early stage, the session aimed to help them set up their companies on firmer ground from the beginning.
For the participating founders, the session was also a chance to ask direct questions and gain clarity on legal matters they would otherwise have to work out alone or learn about through trial and error. The format allowed startups to bring their own situations to the table, from how to split ownership among a founding team to what to consider before hiring the first employees. The incubator described the occasion as one that helps founders make more informed decisions as they build and grow their businesses, and it thanked Jahangir Ansari for sharing his expertise and equipping the cohort with legal knowledge.
Jahangir Ansari is a lawyer based in Hyderabad, and Nettax is itself a startup from the National Incubation Center Hyderabad ecosystem, where it was part of the second cohort. The company works in tax technology and advisory, and it focuses on making taxation simpler for businesses across Sindh. That background makes him a speaker who understands both the legal side of running a company and the practical pressures faced by founders in the region. The National Incubation Center Hyderabad programme operates with the support of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ignite National Technology Fund, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited, LMKT and Tech Destination Pakistan, and sessions of this kind form part of its effort to prepare startups for the real decisions that come with growth.
