National Incubation Center Hyderabad has welcomed the founder of Lawstairs, one of its incubated startups, along with 20 interns for an outreach session on entrepreneurship and the opportunities within the startup ecosystem. The team walked the visitors through the incubator’s programme, explained how aspiring founders can access mentorship and ecosystem support, and described what to expect from its upcoming cohort. Having a founder from the incubator’s own portfolio in the room let the interns hear directly from someone who has been through the programme.
The conversation also made a point that the incubator considers important, which is that entrepreneurial opportunities exist beyond conventional career paths. For people trained in law, an understanding of legal challenges, research and professional practice can be the starting point for solutions to real problems, and some of these can grow into viable businesses. Legal work involves tasks that are repetitive, document heavy and often hard for ordinary people to follow, and these are the kinds of problems where technology and new service models can help.
National Incubation Center Hyderabad is the sixth national incubation centre set up by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication and Ignite National Technology Fund, and it is run by PTCL and LMKT. Its programme gives startups workspace, training, mentorship and access to legal and compliance assistance, including help with company registration, contract drafting, intellectual property and regulatory compliance. More than 200 startups have passed through it so far.
The announcement does not name the founder of Lawstairs or say what the startup does, and it does not give the date of the session. Details of the upcoming cohort, including its opening date and the application process, are available through the official channels of the incubator.
