NIC Hyderabad Holds Entrepreneurship Workshop At Karachi University Annual Pharma Career Fair

Published on

National Incubation Center Hyderabad has taken part in the Karachi University Annual Pharma Career Fair, where its team led an entrepreneurship workshop at the invitation of the organisers. The session was part of the incubator’s outreach for its upcoming cohort. It began with a simple question, what makes a business idea work, and argued that a promising concept is not enough, since successful ventures need to understand their customers, recognise market needs and build solutions that people actually value.

The workshop focused on the link between consumer insights, market understanding and entrepreneurial thinking. It helped participants look at how ideas can be turned into businesses that deal with real-world needs, and it stressed that turning an idea into a successful venture starts with understanding the people it is built for. For students of pharmacy, who usually plan careers in industry, hospitals or research, a session on entrepreneurship shows another route, since health products, services and technology all offer room for new businesses.

The Karachi University Annual Pharma Career Fair is an event at which pharmacy students and graduates meet employers from industry, hospital and clinical settings. Adding an entrepreneurship workshop to such a fair brings a different option to students who are thinking about jobs, and it fits with the incubator’s aim of reaching young people before they choose a career path.

National Incubation Center Hyderabad is the sixth national incubation centre set up by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication and Ignite National Technology Fund, and it is run by PTCL and LMKT. It has incubated more than 200 startups in areas such as healthcare, agriculture, education, financial technology and retail. Details of the upcoming cohort, including its opening date and application process, are available through the official channels of the incubator.
