Rein n Raus, a startup digitizing Pakistan’s rental property market and incubated at the National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technologies, has secured a commercial contract with NADRA Technologies Limited. The center described the deal as a major milestone for Pakistan’s property technology sector and another success story from its program. The contract opens new avenues for the startup to commercialize and scale its solutions across the country, and it follows an earlier fundraise of 200,000 Singapore dollars.
Under the arrangement, the startup will work with NADRA Technologies Limited on four fronts. The first is biometric verification, which builds greater trust and security into rental transactions by confirming the identities of the people involved. The second is digital rent collection, which allows rent to be paid through payment gateway integration instead of cash or informal transfers. The third is nationwide outreach through a network of 22,000 e-Sahulat centres, which gives the startup physical access points in towns and cities across Pakistan. The fourth is marketing and technical support, intended to help the startup reach more customers and run its operations at scale.
The contract came out of the center’s ongoing collaboration with NADRA Technologies Limited, in which its team works closely with startups to identify real world use cases for the company. In return, the arrangement gives startups a way to validate their solutions through Proofs of Concept and then pursue commercialization. For early stage companies, a route into a large government linked technology firm can be hard to find, and the center said it is committed to bridging the gap between innovation and implementation, between startups and industry, and between promising technology and commercial success.
The rental market is a natural target for digitization. Rental agreements in Pakistan are often informal, with disputes over identity, payment, and terms that biometric checks and digital payments can help reduce. A startup that can verify tenants and landlords, collect rent through a secure channel, and reach users through thousands of existing service centres has a clear path to a wide customer base. The center congratulated the Rein n Raus team and said it looks forward to seeing their impact on the rental property ecosystem grow, closing with its motto: building startups that are ready for the real world.
