NSTP Hosts American Investor Session On Taking Research Driven Startups From Product To Market

Published on

The National Science and Technology Park at the National University of Sciences and Technology will host David D’Angelo, an American entrepreneur and investor, on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for a session on how early stage, research-driven startups build a path from product to market. The session begins at 10:30 AM in the park’s auditorium on the third floor and is organized through the university’s collaboration with the United States Embassy in Islamabad. The announcement frames it around a pair of questions: how one investor helped founders raise more than 600 million dollars in follow-on funding, and how he helped scale a startup from 300,000 dollars to 10 million dollars in annual recurring revenue in two years.

The session is built around three takeaways. Attendees will hear what investment readiness looks like to an American investor, a point that often separates startups that raise money from those that do not, and they will learn how venture capital funding decisions are actually made. Selected founders will also have a chance at one on one time with D’Angelo. The poster adds a third figure, a 125 million dollar Series A, to the numbers it cites for his experience. The organizers describe the session as built for founders who are building something at the park.

The topic suits the park’s startups. Research-driven companies often start with a strong technical result but little experience in selling, pricing, or raising capital, and the gap between a working prototype and a company that investors will back is where many of them stall. A speaker who has worked with American venture investors can explain what those investors look for in traction, team, and market, and can point out the mistakes that founders from outside the United States tend to make when they approach them. He recently led a workshop at the National Incubation Center Lahore on entering the American market, which suggests a wider program of sessions for Pakistani startups.

Founders can sign up through the registration page. The announcement did not say how many places are available, how the founders for one on one sessions will be chosen, or whether the session is open to people outside the park’s community. With the date only days away, startups at the park who want to attend, and those who hope to be chosen for a private meeting, should register soon.
