Students from D Education Bureau Schooling System, commonly known as DEBS Schooling System, visited the Maymar Campus of the National Incubation Center Karachi for an interactive introduction to the world of startups and entrepreneurship. The visit gave young learners a direct look at an environment where new ventures are built, and it placed the idea of starting a business within reach of students who are still at school. Rather than a lecture delivered from a distance, the session was designed as a hands-on experience that brought the concepts of entrepreneurship into a real working space.
During the visit, students were briefed on what a startup is, how the startup ecosystem works and how ideas can be transformed into practical solutions. The explanations were supported by real world examples, which helped make abstract terms easier to grasp and showed how businesses that now operate at scale often began as simple ideas aimed at everyday problems. For students who may have heard of startups only through headlines or social media, understanding the stages and the people involved in building a young company offers a more grounded view of what entrepreneurship actually demands. The session also showed how an ecosystem of mentors, investors and support institutions surrounds a founder, rather than leaving that person to work alone.
Adding to the experience, one of the students took the stage to present her own startup idea. The moment demonstrated the creativity, confidence and entrepreneurial thinking of young minds, and it gave her classmates a chance to see a peer put an idea into words in front of an audience. Presenting an idea publicly is one of the first real challenges any founder faces, and doing so at school age builds familiarity with pitching long before a career decision has to be made. Her presentation also turned the visit from a passive tour into an exchange, with students contributing their own ideas to the discussion rather than only listening.
The visit encouraged students to think beyond traditional career paths, explore innovative solutions and recognize the potential of turning their ideas into reality. Programs that bring school groups into an incubation setting help widen the range of futures that young people can picture for themselves, and they plant the idea of entrepreneurship early. The center operates with the backing of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Tech Destination Pakistan and Ignite, the National Technology Fund, and its work is supported by LMKT, LuckyOne Mall and Orbit Ventures. As more students are introduced to startups in this way, the center continues to contribute to a pipeline of future founders who understand how ideas become businesses.
