Accelerate Punjab has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards, an initiative of Entrepreneurs’ Organization, through its Islamabad chapter. The agreement is aimed at bridging the gap between young student innovators and top tier resources, with the goal of building up Pakistan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. By bringing a provincial startup initiative together with one of the world’s best known competitions for student founders, the two sides intend to make it easier for young entrepreneurs who are already running businesses to find the support they need to grow them.
Through this collaboration, student entrepreneurs will gain access to mentorship from industry leaders, advanced incubation resources and workspaces, global exposure through the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards platform, and pathways to scale disruptive, tech driven startups. Each of these addresses a common obstacle for student founders. Mentorship gives them guidance from people who have already built companies, workspaces and incubation resources provide a place and structure to work, and the global platform places their ventures in front of audiences well beyond their own campuses. Together, these elements are designed to help a student business move from an early stage idea toward a company with real scale.
Eligibility for the program is set out clearly. Applicants must be enrolled undergraduate or graduate students, and part time students are allowed. The applicant must be the founder, owner or controlling shareholder running the business, with one founder per company. The business must have been operating for at least six consecutive months and must have earned at least 500 dollars in revenue or raised 1,000 dollars in investment. Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years of age, and they must not have previously reached the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards Global Finals. Together, the criteria are meant to select students who have moved past the idea stage and have a real, operating business behind their application. Eligible students can apply here.
The signing adds to the growing network of institutions working to support young founders in Pakistan, and it links the country’s student entrepreneurs more directly to an international competition and community. For students who have started businesses while still studying, the agreement offers a clearer route to resources that are often hard to reach, from experienced mentors to workspaces and global visibility. Accelerate Punjab has indicated that more opportunities are on the way, and student founders who meet the criteria now have a defined channel through which to apply and take their ventures further.
