AshreiTech, a technology focused private equity firm based in the United States, has announced a strategic investment in Digit Labs, also styled Di8it, a Pakistani cybersecurity company. The transaction is the first investment AshreiTech has made in Pakistan and carries the firm beyond its established American market and into one of the fastest growing technology economies in South Asia. The investment expands the technology portfolio of AshreiTech and gives Digit Labs the capital and market access it needs to grow its presence across Pakistan and beyond. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, though both companies described the arrangement as a long term commitment to the Pakistani security market.
The investment arrives at a moment when organizations across the country are accelerating their digital transformation efforts and facing a sharp rise in cyber threats. Demand for enterprise level security is climbing rapidly across banking, government, telecom, and other regulated sectors, where a single breach can carry serious financial and regulatory consequences. Digit Labs, founded in 2015, has built its business around that demand. The company delivers offensive, defensive, advisory, and managed security services to banks, government institutions, telecom operators, and large enterprises, with a current focus on agentic security operations centers and agentic managed extended detection and response, an approach that pairs human governed artificial intelligence agents with expert analysts working alongside them.
For AshreiTech, the deal deepens its position in the fast growing cybersecurity market and adds a proven security team to its portfolio. The firm saw deep technical talent at Digit Labs, along with the trust of leading Pakistani institutions, and judged the company ready to scale. AshreiTech focuses on building, acquiring, and growing innovative businesses across multiple industries, with an emphasis on high potential companies in emerging markets, and it works closely with leadership teams on operational excellence, sustainable growth, and long term value creation. Rahim Iqbal, General Partner at AshreiTech, said, “Pakistan’s digital economy is growing fast, and so is the need for world class cyber defense; Digit Labs has the engineering depth and client trust to lead that market, and we’re investing to help them scale.”
Leadership at Digit Labs welcomed the backing as an endorsement of nearly a decade of work. Abbas Rajani, Chief Executive Officer of Digit Labs, said, “AshreiTech’s backing is a strong endorsement of what our team has built since 2015, giving us the capital and reach to protect many more organizations across Pakistan.” The company is expected to use the new capital to widen its reach among institutions that depend on regulated, security sensitive operations, while drawing on the strategic guidance of its new investor. The arrival of a foreign private equity firm in Pakistani cybersecurity also signals growing outside interest in local technology companies that have earned the confidence of banks, government bodies, and telecom operators, and it may encourage further investment in a sector where the need for skilled security talent continues to outpace supply.
