AsRa Tech Signs MoU With NICAT To Advance Aerospace Research Development And Technological Entrepreneurship

Published on

AsRa Tech has signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technologies, a step the company describes as a new chapter in aerospace innovation and collaboration. The agreement is meant to foster innovation, advance aerospace technologies and explore new opportunities in research, development and technological entrepreneurship. Both sides say they aim to nurture innovative ideas and contribute to the growth of Pakistan’s aerospace and technology ecosystem, and the company says it hopes to turn ideas into meaningful technological solutions.

AsRa Tech is an Islamabad-based company working in aerospace and drone technology, and it is already familiar with the incubator. It has taken part in hands-on training at the incubator in Rawalpindi, including a Lab X bootcamp on aerospace and drone technology, which brought together industry experts, founders, engineers and innovators to learn about autonomous systems by doing. The company has also signed an agreement with Siber Koza International for an RC plane and drone club at the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park in Rawalpindi, which shows a focus on practical learning for students and hobbyists.

The National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technologies is Pakistan’s first aerospace and deep technology incubator, based at the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park and funded by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication through Ignite National Technology Fund. It is run by a consortium led by NetSol Technologies with the park, Air University and Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra, and it offers startups a twelve month, zero equity programme. The incubator has signed several similar agreements with companies and universities, including one with JazzWorld Enterprise Solutions earlier this year for joint research, technology seminars and innovation showcases.

The terms of the MoU with AsRa Tech, such as the specific projects, training programmes or startups it will cover, and the length of the agreement, have not been announced. For aerospace startups at the incubator, an agreement with a company that already runs drone training and hobby flying programmes could open ways to learn practical skills and test their technology.
