Beaconhouse National University is bringing back its Beyond the Idea webinar series for a second episode, built around a question many first time founders eventually confront once initial excitement fades, what it actually takes to turn an idea into a successful, sustainable business rather than simply a well received pitch. The series positions itself as exploring the fuller journey from having an idea to building something that creates real, lasting value, treating execution and sustained growth as distinct challenges deserving separate attention from the ideation stage that so much entrepreneurship programming tends to emphasize instead.
Episode 2 is hosted by Uzair Shahid, head of innovation at BNU, in conversation with Faizan Zubair, chief executive officer of PopNosh, the gourmet popcorn brand Zubair built with his brothers after returning to Pakistan following his studies in the United States. Zubair previously visited BNU’s campus to present his book, From Instinct to Infrastructure, in a session that reportedly moved past familiar entrepreneurship talking points and focused instead on the deeper architecture behind building a category defining brand, spanning instinct driven early decisions through to the systems, culture, and long term vision required to sustain a business well past its founding stage. That earlier campus visit appears to have set up this webinar as a natural continuation, giving Shahid and Zubair a chance to go deeper into territory the book itself was written to explore.
The conversation is expected to cover entrepreneurship, execution, business growth, and the specific challenges founders encounter as they attempt to move beyond an idea, an especially relevant framing for a founder whose brand navigated Pakistan’s market with essentially no existing category for gourmet popcorn to draw comparisons against when it launched. That absence of an established market required PopNosh to build both product credibility and consumer demand simultaneously, a dynamic likely to inform much of what Zubair shares about execution under genuine uncertainty rather than working from an established playbook.
The webinar is scheduled for Monday, 14 September 2026, at 3:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time, streaming live on LinkedIn. The Beyond the Idea series continues under BNU’s InnovAtrium innovation initiative, extending the university’s broader push to connect students and the wider entrepreneurial community with practicing founders willing to discuss the less polished, more difficult realities of building a business beyond the initial idea stage.
