CEGA Hosts Lahore Frames Animation Community Meetup

Published on

CEGA will host Lahore Frames, The Animation Meetup, bringing together animators, visual storytellers, students, studios and industry professionals for a full day of connecting, creating and collaborating. The event is being positioned as Lahore’s animation community coming together in one setting, offering a structured opportunity for people working across different parts of the animation and creative industries to meet and exchange ideas.

At the centre of the event is a showcase of selected animations submitted by creators ahead of the meetup, giving participants a chance to see work chosen to represent the talent currently shaping Pakistan’s animation community. Rather than functioning purely as a networking event, the screenings give Lahore Frames a substantive creative programme at its core, allowing attendees to engage directly with the work being produced by their peers rather than relying solely on conversation and networking to gauge the state of the local animation scene.

Organisers have framed the event around the idea of coming for the screenings and staying for the connections, suggesting the meetup is designed to serve both as a platform for showcasing creative work and as a space for building relationships within the animation community. This dual purpose reflects a recognition that creative industries often benefit as much from informal community building and idea exchange as they do from formal showcases of finished work.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2, 2026, running from 10 AM to 6 PM at CEGA in Lahore. Ahead of the event, creators are being invited to submit their animations for consideration to be featured in the showcase, giving emerging animators a chance to have their work presented publicly alongside more established studios and professionals attending the meetup.

Lahore Frames is supported by Ignite and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, alongside collaborators including HUM Network, Techsol Space, LUMS Centre for Entrepreneurship, Sablo Studio, SectionSoft and Agon, reflecting a similar network of media, academic and creative industry partners to those backing CEGA’s other recent community initiatives. Those interested in submitting their animation for the showcase can do so through the link provided by the organisers. Submit: https://lnkd.in/gRz553yS
