CEGA Opens Applications For Gaming Animation Cohort

Published on

CEGA has opened applications for Incubation Cohort 3, inviting founders and creators building in gaming, animation and interactive entertainment to apply for its six month incubation programme. The call is open to those with an existing idea or intellectual property they want to turn into a scalable venture, positioning the cohort as a pathway for creative and technical founders working in a category that has historically received less structured support compared to more conventional technology sectors in Pakistan.

Applicants selected for the cohort will gain access to world class rendering studios and creative infrastructure, giving founders working on visually intensive projects like games and animation access to production capabilities that would otherwise require significant capital investment to acquire independently. The programme also includes industry mentorship intended to help founders sharpen both their product and their underlying business model, alongside broader business and product support aimed at helping teams move from early development toward a more scalable venture.

Beyond mentorship and infrastructure, the cohort offers seed capital pathways and exposure to growth opportunities, giving participating founders a potential route toward funding as they progress through the programme. The incubation journey runs for six months and is offered entirely free of cost, removing a financial barrier that might otherwise limit participation from early stage creators and founders who have not yet generated revenue from their projects.

CEGA has framed the cohort as open to founders at different stages, whether they are still developing a first prototype or already have a game or animation intellectual property they are looking to take to the next level. This flexibility in entry point reflects an understanding that gaming and animation ventures often follow a different development trajectory compared to typical software startups, with longer production timelines and a stronger emphasis on creative and technical craftsmanship alongside business fundamentals.

The programme is supported by Ignite and the Ministry of Information Technology, consistent with the broader institutional backing behind Pakistan’s national incubation infrastructure. As gaming and animation continue to develop as a distinct category within the country’s wider technology and creative economy, programmes like CEGA’s incubation cohort offer a dedicated support structure for founders working specifically within interactive entertainment.
