CFA Society Pakistan is sponsoring an introductory webinar hosted by CFA Institute on the Global Investment Performance Standards, commonly known as GIPS Standards, giving finance professionals a structured overview of a framework used globally to standardise how investment firms report performance. The session is part of a two part webinar series designed to provide a practical overview of the GIPS Standards for Firms, with this first session focused on introducing the foundational purpose and rationale behind the standards.
The webinar will explore why firms around the world choose to comply with GIPS Standards, along with how compliance can enhance transparency, credibility and investor confidence. For investment firms operating in increasingly global and competitive capital markets, adherence to internationally recognised performance reporting standards can serve as a signal of credibility to both existing and prospective investors, particularly when firms are seeking to attract capital from international sources that expect standardised, comparable reporting practices.
The session will be led by two instructors from CFA Institute, Ken Robinson, CFA, CIPM, and David Terris, CIPM, both of whom serve as Director of Investment Practice and Standards at the organisation. Their joint involvement brings direct expertise from within the body responsible for maintaining and developing the GIPS Standards themselves, giving attendees access to guidance grounded in the standards’ original institutional context rather than a secondhand interpretation of the framework.
The webinar is scheduled for August 17, 2026, from 4:30 PM to 6 PM, and will be held over Zoom, making it accessible to finance professionals across Pakistan without requiring travel to a physical venue. Registration for the session closes at 3 PM on August 13, 2026, giving interested participants a defined window ahead of the event to secure their spot. Those looking to nominate participants for the session have been asked to reach out directly via email at events.registration@cfapakistan.org.
CFA Society Pakistan’s continued sponsorship of sessions addressing international financial standards reflects the organisation’s broader role in connecting Pakistan’s finance and investment community with globally recognised frameworks and best practices, an area that carries particular relevance as domestic firms increasingly look to engage with international investors and capital markets.
