Climaventures, Pakistan’s first climate-focused venture fund and accelerator, is hosting its roadshow in Karachi today, May 18, 2026, at Ball Room A of Pearl Continental Hotel, running from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The event is open to founders, investors, operators, and builders with a stake in the country’s climate technology landscape, and comes at a moment when Pakistan’s climate financing infrastructure is beginning to take on a more defined shape after years of remaining underdeveloped relative to the scale of the challenge the country faces. The roadshow is positioned as a convergence point for the people actively building and funding the climate economy, rather than a conventional conference format, with the stated intention of creating the kind of direct, consequential conversations that can shift the direction of an idea or a venture.
Climaventures was launched in late 2024 as a 50 million United States dollar initiative designed to support climate innovation across Pakistan, structured around two distinct but connected vehicles. The first is the Climaventures Fund, a 40 million dollar equity fund anchored by a 15 million dollar first-loss equity commitment from the Green Climate Fund, the international body established under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to channel capital toward climate action in developing countries. The fund is designed to back early to late-stage climate ventures in Pakistan, with individual investment sizes of approximately 2 to 3 million dollars per venture. The second vehicle is a 10 million dollar Venture Accelerator focused on early-stage startups, which offers support of around 50,000 dollars per venture alongside the technical and strategic assistance needed to bring businesses to a state of investment readiness.
Underpinning both vehicles is a foundational platform called the Climate Clinic, which Climaventures has established through its implementing organisation, CRCC, to address one of the more persistent structural weaknesses in Pakistan’s climate startup ecosystem. Many early-stage climate ventures in the country have struggled not because their underlying ideas lack merit but because they have had difficulty articulating and measuring their climate impact in ways that satisfy the standards investors and international climate finance institutions require. The Climate Clinic is specifically designed to help ventures assess, communicate, and improve their climate impact credentials before they move into either the Venture Accelerator or the equity fund, creating a more coherent pipeline from early concept through to scalable, investment-ready business. The three components, taken together, form what Climaventures describes as an integrated pathway for climate ventures to emerge, grow, and scale within the Pakistani market.
The sectors Climaventures is actively targeting for investment and acceleration include renewable energy, electric mobility, sustainable agriculture, and adjacent climate-relevant verticals where Pakistan’s economic structure and climate vulnerability intersect most directly. Pakistan ranks among the countries most exposed to climate risk globally, a reality that creates both urgency and opportunity for ventures developing solutions in these areas. The involvement of the Green Climate Fund as an anchor investor lends the initiative significant international credibility and signals to private capital that the risk profile of climate investing in Pakistan is being actively managed through the first-loss structure, which is designed precisely to crowd in additional private investment by absorbing the initial downside.
For founders and investors attending today’s roadshow at Pearl Continental, the Climaventures event represents an opportunity to engage directly with a fund that is not merely signalling interest in climate technology but has committed institutional capital to backing it. With the Venture Accelerator open to early-stage startups and the equity fund targeting ventures further along the growth curve, the programme covers a range of entry points for climate-focused businesses at different stages of development.
