Founded by Zayan Ahmed, Courtify has built what it describes as an all in one sports ecosystem platform designed to simplify how people play sports, addressing a set of fragmented tasks that sports enthusiasts typically handle separately through different channels.
The platform allows users to book courts, find teammates for games, connect with verified coaches, and buy or sell sports gear, consolidating these functions into one place rather than requiring people to rely on separate apps, phone calls or informal networks to organise a game or find the right equipment. By combining booking, team formation, coaching access and gear transactions, Courtify is positioning itself to serve as a central touchpoint for people participating in recreational and semi organised sports, an area that has seen relatively limited dedicated technology infrastructure in Pakistan.
Courtify’s presence at NIC Karachi places it within one of Pakistan’s more established startup incubation networks, which has supported a wide range of early stage ventures across different sectors since its founding. The incubator has continued to expand its cohort structure, and NIC Karachi is now accepting applications for its sixteenth cohort, offering selected startups access to mentorship, industry experts, investor networks and other forms of support intended to help them build and scale their ventures. NIC Karachi’s continued cohort intake reflects the broader ecosystem of support built around Pakistan’s startup sector, with partners including Tech Destination Pakistan, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ignite National Technology Fund, LMKT, LuckyOne Mall and Orbit Ventures all named in connection with the current cohort cycle. This network of institutional and private sector partners gives incubated startups like Courtify access to a wider set of resources beyond direct mentorship, spanning technology infrastructure support, funding connections and physical space for engagement with the broader startup community.
Sports technology remains a relatively early stage category within Pakistan’s startup landscape compared to sectors such as fintech or e-commerce, making ventures like Courtify part of a smaller but growing group of founders attempting to build dedicated infrastructure for recreational sports participation. As Courtify continues to develop its platform through its time at NIC Karachi, its progress will likely serve as a reference point for how well a consolidated, app based approach can address the coordination challenges that have traditionally made organising sports activity more difficult than it needs to be.
