Elevate Entrepreneurship Holds Business Model Refinement Session Week Two

Published on

Elevate Entrepreneurship held its third session in week two of the programme, focusing on Business Model Refinement and Review as participants moved beyond initial idea generation into a more critical evaluation of their ventures. The session marked a shift in the programme’s structure, with the focus moving from shaping early ideas toward challenging the assumptions behind those ideas and strengthening the underlying foundations of each participant’s business concept.

The session was led by mentors Hamood Khan and Areefa Shariq from S&P Global, who guided participants through a structured process of refining their business models based on closer scrutiny of the assumptions each venture had been built around. Their involvement brought a corporate finance and data analytics perspective to the session, given S&P Global’s role as a major international provider of financial information and analytics, offering participants exposure to rigorous evaluation standards not always present in earlier stage founder training.

The session’s focus on business model refinement reflects a natural progression for participants who spent the programme’s first week developing their initial ideas, with week two now pushing them to test those ideas against a more critical set of questions. Rather than simply expanding on early concepts, the session encouraged participants to identify weaknesses in their assumptions and address gaps in their business models before moving further into the programme.

Elevate Entrepreneurship has continued to structure its sessions around a progressive framework, moving participants step by step from initial ideation toward more rigorous business planning and validation. This structured approach mirrors similar early stage entrepreneurship programmes across Pakistan, where founders are typically guided through distinct phases rather than expected to develop a complete business plan in a single sitting.

Organisers extended thanks to Khan and Shariq for leading the session, with their contribution adding to the programme’s broader mentor network drawn from established organisations such as S&P Global. As Elevate Entrepreneurship continues into its later weeks, participants are expected to build on the business model refinement work completed during this session, moving progressively closer to developing ventures capable of operating as fully formed businesses.
