Fatima Fertilizer’s ‘Salam Kissan’ Initiative Acclaimed at the Asian Experience Awards 2023 in Singapore

Fatima Fertilizer’s flagship initiative, ‘Salam Kissan,’ has gained international recognition by winning the prestigious “Digital Experience of the Year for Pakistan” award at the 2023 Asian Experience Awards. This accolade was presented at a special ceremony held in Singapore, celebrating the initiative’s innovative efforts to uplift Pakistani farmers and modernize the agriculture sector through digital technology.

Launched with the goal of highlighting the critical role Pakistani farmers play in safeguarding the economy and national food security, ‘Salam Kissan’ introduced a monumental proposal to commemorate December 18th as “Kissan Day.” This annual celebration, which began in 2019, honors the courage and resilience of Pakistani farmers and has been officially recognized by the Government of Pakistan.

Fatima Fertilizer’s ‘Salam Kissan’ initiative is rooted in the belief that the nation’s economic prosperity is closely tied to the progress of its agricultural community. By using digital innovation and technology, the initiative aims to equip farmers with essential knowledge, resources, and modern farming techniques to enhance food production and contribute to national food security.

Upon receiving the award in Singapore, Rabel Sadozai, Director of Sales and Marketing at Fatima Fertilizer, expressed her gratitude. “I am deeply humbled and honored to receive this prestigious accolade on behalf of my team, my company Fatima Fertilizer, and my country,” she said. Sadozai reaffirmed the company’s commitment to empowering farmers and providing them with a platform to engage with policymakers. She emphasized the crucial role of farmers in Pakistan’s economic growth and pledged to continue Fatima Fertilizer’s efforts in tackling challenges related to food security.

The ‘Salam Kissan’ initiative is more than just a single project; it is an umbrella of diverse programs aimed at improving the lives of both male and female farmers across Pakistan. By leveraging technology-driven transformation, the initiative addresses critical aspects of farmers’ lives, including financial inclusion, social stability, and the adoption of modern farming practices. Notable programs under ‘Salam Kissan’ include Sarsabz Tabeer, a training and empowerment program for female farmers, and Sarsabz Pakistan, an agricultural app that provides farmers with essential information. The initiative also launched Sarsabz Kahani, Pakistan’s first agriculture-based web series, which shares the real stories of local farmers.

Through these initiatives, ‘Salam Kissan’ aims to bridge gaps, empower farmers, and unlock the potential of Pakistan’s agricultural landscape for a sustainable future. By addressing the socio-economic challenges farmers face, Fatima Fertilizer continues to play a pivotal role in improving the agricultural sector and, ultimately, the country’s overall prosperity.

The Asian Experience Awards recognizes companies across the Asia Pacific region for their exceptional efforts in enhancing customer experience and engagement strategies. This year, companies from various industries participated, but Fatima Fertilizer was the sole Pakistani recipient of this honor, further showcasing the company’s innovative contributions to Pakistan’s agriculture sector and its commitment to uplifting the farming community.
