Fatima Jinnah Women University Business Incubation Center successfully hosted the University-Level Pitching Competition for the Punjab Youth Innovation and Incubation Competition 2026 on August 10, 2026, marking the culmination of a selection process that began with 111 startup applications submitted by students across diverse academic domains. The event brought together 56 teams that had advanced through an earlier internal evaluation round to present their ideas before a panel of external and internal jury members.
The external jury included Muneaza J. Durrani, Project Director at WISE Lab, Salman Ahmed, Program Manager for Incubation at WISE Lab, Muhammad Asghar Nasar, Manager of Regional Operations at SMEDA in Rawalpindi, Dr Abdul Wahab, Assistant Professor at FAST University and a trainer with the ILO Women Entrepreneurship Program, Muhammad Adnan Mukhtar, CEO of Meezan School System Nationwide and COO of The Signature Impact, and Muhammad Omer Pervaiz, CEO of Devenmark Studio and a senior project manager with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health System Strengthening Program. This combination of jury members brought together perspectives spanning incubation, government enterprise support, academia and enterprise technology consulting.
The internal jury comprised Professor Dr Azra Yasmin, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Dr Aamir Arslan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Software Engineering, and Dr Sana Irfan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration, giving the evaluation process direct input from within FJWU’s own academic leadership and faculty alongside the external industry perspectives.
FJWU-BIC extended appreciation to all 56 teams that presented during the competition, describing each participant as having demonstrated significant potential regardless of final placement. Organisers noted that the top three winning teams would be announced separately following the pitching round, indicating that a formal evaluation and deliberation process is continuing beyond the presentations themselves.
The scale of participation in this year’s competition, moving from an initial pool of 111 applications down to 56 teams presenting at the university level pitching round, reflects sustained interest in entrepreneurship among FJWU’s student body and positions the university as an active contributor to the broader Punjab Youth Innovation and Incubation Competition 2026 taking place across the province.
