Founder Institute Holds South Asia Meetup At NIC Islamabad

Published on

Founder Institute held its South Asia Meetup at NIC Islamabad, bringing together aspiring founders to learn about the organisation’s approach to startup building and to meet directly with Founder Institute Directors. The session was held as part of Founder Institute’s broader South Asia cohort, connecting attendees at NIC Islamabad to a wider regional and global network of founders and mentors associated with the accelerator.

The meetup was framed around Founder Institute’s recent overhaul of its accelerator model for what the organisation describes as the AI era, with the session aimed at explaining what that shift means in practical terms for founders considering how to start a company today. Attendees were given the opportunity to gain clarity on how to begin building a startup, engage directly with Founder Institute Directors, and learn how the organisation now supports founders globally through what it describes as an AI native approach to company building, a shift that reflects the growing role artificial intelligence tools are playing in how early stage companies are formed and scaled.

The session took place on August 7, 2026, from 5 PM to 6:30 PM Pakistan Standard Time at NIC Islamabad, and was positioned as open to anyone with an idea or simply curiosity about starting a company, rather than being limited to founders already working on a defined venture. Founder Institute described the event as an opportunity for those without a clear starting point to explore what building a startup could look like with the organisation’s support.

Founder Institute operates across more than 200 cities and 100 countries globally, with a portfolio of more than 9,000 companies and a combined portfolio value exceeding 20 billion dollars, giving the organisation a substantial global footprint within the startup accelerator space. Its South Asia cohort, of which the NIC Islamabad meetup formed a part, connects founders in the region to this broader international network, giving local attendees access to resources and mentorship beyond what might otherwise be available through purely domestic programming.

The event drew participation tied to figures including Saira Qayyum, Kamran Taufiq Khan and Sayyed Ahmad Masud, reflecting continued engagement between Founder Institute’s regional cohort structure and Pakistan’s incubation ecosystem centred around institutions like NIC Islamabad. As global accelerators continue to adapt their models around AI native approaches to company building, sessions of this kind offer local founders early exposure to how these shifts are being applied in practice within established international programmes.
