Highland Startup Challenge 2026 Introduces Tahira Kaleem and Ahad Wazir as Mentors

Published on

The Highland Startup Challenge 2026 has introduced Tahira Kaleem from Sustainable Impact Solutions as a Mentor and Judge for the competition, bringing her expertise in innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship to guide participating startups throughout the event. Her background specifically at the intersection of sustainability and entrepreneurship gives founders participating in the challenge access to a perspective increasingly relevant to how ventures are evaluated for long-term viability, particularly as sustainability considerations become more central to both investor and consumer expectations.

Alongside Kaleem, the challenge has also welcomed Ahad Wazir, Founder and Builder, and former Investments Lead at NIC and Karandaaz, bringing valuable insights, experience, and an investor-focused perspective to inspire startup founders participating in the competition. Wazir’s prior role overseeing investments at both a national incubation center and a development finance institution gives him a distinctly investor-oriented lens through which to evaluate and mentor the ventures competing in the challenge, complementing Kaleem’s sustainability-focused expertise with a more direct financing and scaling perspective.

Empowering innovators and building impactful startups form the core mission of the Highland Startup Challenge, which is being held at Baragali Campus, University of Peshawar, from August 6 to 9, 2026. The event offers participants seed funding, incubation support, and investor networking, giving the competition a fairly comprehensive structure that extends beyond a single pitching session into sustained support for the ventures that participate.

The Highland Startup Challenge is organised by the Business Incubation Center at University of Peshawar, in partnership with SeedRise KP Fund and the Directorate of Youth Affairs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, alongside supporting partners including NIC Peshawar, Makkah Group, Arfa Karim Technology Incubator, and the Directorate of Social Welfare Special Education and Women Empowerment Department Merged Districts. The involvement of both Kaleem and Wazir as mentors and judges reflects the challenge’s effort to bring a well-rounded panel of expertise, spanning sustainability, investment, and entrepreneurial building experience, to support founders participating in this regional startup competition based in the scenic setting of Baragali.
