Human In The AI Loop To Host Building With AI Panel

Published on

Human in the AI Loop will host a Build session titled Building with AI, bringing together builders, founders and engineering leaders from Qualcomm, Google DeepMind, Waymo and Xapa to explore the decisions, challenges and tradeoffs involved in building with artificial intelligence. The session is co-organised by OPEN Silicon Valley and the ISACA San Francisco Chapter as part of the broader Human in the AI Loop programme, positioning the discussion at the intersection of technical engineering leadership and applied AI development across some of the industry’s most prominent companies.

The session’s framing centres on how AI is pushing the boundaries of research and development across a range of fields, from chips and autonomous vehicles to cancer research, with the panel intended to go behind the scenes and explore how engineering teams are turning AI research into real world applications. Rather than focusing on AI as an abstract or theoretical topic, the session is structured around the practical decisions and tradeoffs teams face when actually deploying AI systems into production environments.

Moderating the session is Uday Keshavdas, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Xapa, who will guide a panel featuring Shehram Jamal, Vice President of Agentic AI at Qualcomm, Ahmad Humayun, Staff Research Scientist at Google DeepMind, and Usman Muhammad, Senior Technical Lead Manager at Waymo. This combination of speakers brings together perspectives from semiconductor and hardware focused AI work at Qualcomm, foundational AI research at Google DeepMind, and applied autonomous vehicle engineering at Waymo, giving attendees exposure to how AI is being operationalised across markedly different technical domains.

The breadth of companies represented on the panel, spanning chipmaking, foundational research and autonomous vehicles, reflects the session’s intent to move beyond a single industry vertical and instead surface common threads and divergent challenges in how different types of organisations approach building and scaling AI systems. For engineers and founders in the audience, this cross-industry perspective offers a chance to compare how production AI challenges manifest differently depending on the technical domain and business context involved.

The session is scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 6 PM to 6:40 PM at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California. Those interested in attending can register through the link provided by the organisers. Register: https://lnkd.in/eaPDjyn4
