Hungry Boys Startup Brings Batch Delivery to Students

Published on

For students living in hostels, finding good-quality food at an affordable price can often be a daily struggle. Maratib Ali Lashari, founder of Hungry Boys, built a FoodTech startup specifically to address this problem, making food delivery more accessible for students and underserved communities through a model designed around shared, cost-efficient ordering rather than the standard single-order delivery approach most platforms rely on.

Through its batch-delivery model, Hungry Boys enables students living in the same hostel or building to order collectively from their favourite restaurants, reducing delivery costs while improving convenience. This approach addresses a genuine structural inefficiency in conventional food delivery, where individual orders from a shared location generate redundant delivery trips and costs that batch ordering can meaningfully reduce, making food delivery more financially accessible for students operating on tight budgets.

Beyond its student-focused batch delivery model, Hungry Boys has also expanded into revolutionizing delivery to underserved and remote locations more broadly, leveraging a website with over 400 active monthly members and a highly efficient last-mile logistics model to bring affordable food delivery to areas ignored by major platforms. The startup focuses on community-driven operations, low delivery costs, and partnerships with local restaurants to serve customers in peri-urban and rural communities across Pakistan, extending its original hostel-focused concept into a broader mission of reaching customers that mainstream delivery platforms have largely overlooked due to lower order density or logistical difficulty.

Turning a personal challenge into a sustainable business required more than just a strong idea. With the support of NIC Faisalabad as part of its Cohort 8, Maratib gained access to mentorship, strategic guidance, industry connections, and a supportive startup community that helped Hungry Boys strengthen its business model, improve operations, and scale its impact. Today, Hungry Boys serves more than 800 active monthly users and continues to make quality food more accessible, one shared delivery at a time, demonstrating how a startup built around solving a founder’s own everyday problem can grow into a broader logistics solution serving communities largely underserved by existing food delivery infrastructure.
