IBA CEDIR Hosts Awareness Session For Thirteenth Tameer Awards

Published on

IBA Center for Entrepreneurial Development, Innovation and Research hosted an awareness session for the 13th Tameer Awards 2026 at IBA City Campus, giving students a structured introduction to a competition that has, over more than a decade, become one of Pakistan’s more established platforms for early stage entrepreneurs. The session was facilitated by Imran Azeem, program manager for training and development at Wafi Energy, the corporate sponsor whose backing has kept the Tameer Awards running since it moved under Wafi’s stewardship in recent editions after originating as a Shell backed initiative.

Participants at the session received a full rundown covering the objectives of the competition, the benefits available to finalists and winners, eligibility requirements, the award categories open to applicants, key dates in the competition calendar, and a walkthrough of the application process itself. Rather than leaving students to interpret competition guidelines on their own, the session was designed to remove ambiguity early, giving prospective applicants a clear sense of what is expected before they commit time to preparing a submission. This kind of structured briefing has become increasingly common across Pakistan’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, as institutions look to widen the pool of quality applications rather than relying solely on students who already have prior exposure to competition formats.

The session also included success stories from past editions of the Tameer Awards, intended to give attendees a concrete sense of what a strong submission looks like and how previous winners translated early stage ideas into recognized, funded ventures. Past editions of the competition have typically drawn several hundred submissions from across the country, with a smaller cohort of finalists selected to compete across a handful of categories, ranging from clean energy solutions to other socially oriented innovation tracks, before being evaluated by a jury drawn from major corporate and academic partners. Framing the competition around inspiration alongside logistics reflects an understanding that many students hesitate to apply to national level competitions not because they lack a workable idea, but because they underestimate how accessible actually entering can be.

Students interested in the Tameer Awards 2026 can register through this link to move forward with the application process. The 13th edition continues a Tameer Awards tradition that has previously drawn hundreds of ideas from across Pakistan, selected small groups of finalists to receive international expert coaching ahead of a final pitch, and culminated in award ceremonies attended by representatives from major corporate and academic institutions. For IBA students specifically, the awareness session offers an accessible entry point into a competition that has historically served as an early stepping stone toward more formal incubation and investment opportunities further along in a founder’s entrepreneurial journey.
