IBA-CEDIR marked the beginning of the Certificate in Entrepreneurship, Cohort 19, and the Certificate in Technology Entrepreneurship, Cohort 2, with a welcome orientation for fifty five participants at IBA CEDIR. The dual launch reflects the continued scale of the centre’s entrepreneurship education programmes, with Cohort 19 of the longer running Certificate in Entrepreneurship indicating a well established programme now in its nineteenth iteration, alongside a much newer technology specific certificate now entering its second cohort.
Participants were introduced to the programmes’ modules, learning approach, and objectives during the orientation, setting the foundation for the journey ahead. This kind of structured introduction gives participants a clear understanding of what to expect over the course of their programme, helping set expectations before more intensive content and coursework begins.
The cohort brings together a diverse mix of professional experiences, ideas, and entrepreneurial aspirations, reflecting IBA-CEDIR’s approach of drawing participants from varied professional backgrounds rather than restricting enrollment to a single demographic or career stage. The distinction between the Certificate in Entrepreneurship and the Certificate in Technology Entrepreneurship suggests IBA-CEDIR has developed a specialised track specifically for participants working on technology driven ventures, separate from its longer standing general entrepreneurship certificate. This kind of programme differentiation allows the centre to tailor content more closely to the specific needs of technology founders, who often face distinct challenges around product development, technical talent, and scaling compared to founders in more conventional business categories.
