The Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) at IBA Karachi is set to host its inaugural “Idea to Impact” workshop on September 8, 2025, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the G&T Auditorium. This two-hour session will provide students, alumni, and aspiring entrepreneurs with practical insights into identifying real-world challenges, developing viable solutions, and transforming ideas into sustainable ventures.
The workshop will be led by two of Pakistan’s most renowned trainers, Umair Jaliawala and Maalik Khaskhely, both of whom bring extensive experience in leadership development, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Their sessions are expected to be highly interactive, equipping participants with the mindset and skills needed to navigate the evolving startup ecosystem.
“Idea to Impact” is designed to help attendees explore the fundamentals of entrepreneurship in a hands-on way. Participants will be guided through exercises that emphasize the importance of problem identification as the foundation of any successful venture. By focusing on solving real challenges, the program aims to inspire students to think beyond traditional business models and embrace social entrepreneurship as a pathway to creating meaningful impact.
According to CED, the workshop goes beyond teaching business mechanics; it instills an entrepreneurial mindset that emphasizes resilience, innovation, and social responsibility. Attendees will learn how social enterprises play a critical role in addressing societal issues while also creating sustainable business opportunities.
This initiative reflects IBA Karachi’s broader commitment to fostering entrepreneurship among youth in Pakistan. With the country’s startup ecosystem continuing to expand, initiatives such as “Idea to Impact” provide the next generation of entrepreneurs with the tools and mentorship needed to refine their ideas and bring them to life. For students and alumni, the session also offers a chance to engage directly with experienced trainers, network with peers, and strengthen their entrepreneurial vision.
The session is part of a series of upcoming activities by the Centre for Entrepreneurial Development, which has been actively working to promote entrepreneurial thinking across disciplines. By offering workshops, training sessions, and incubation opportunities, CED continues to play a central role in shaping the startup landscape in Pakistan.
Workshops like “Idea to Impact” are particularly timely, given the increasing demand for innovative solutions in sectors such as education, health, finance, agriculture, and climate resilience. By engaging students early in their entrepreneurial journey, IBA aims to prepare them not only as business leaders but also as changemakers who can contribute positively to society.
For aspiring entrepreneurs, this event presents a unique opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge, refine their ideas, and understand the nuances of building ventures that balance profit with purpose. Students and alumni from IBA, as well as other individuals interested in exploring entrepreneurship, are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the session’s learning environment.
The “Idea to Impact” workshop underscores IBA Karachi’s ongoing mission to bridge academia with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, ensuring that Pakistan’s young innovators have the support and resources they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive and dynamic environment.
