IGI Finex Securities Head Evaluates Startups at NICAT Showcase Event

Published on

Syed Saifullah Kazmi, Head of Investment Banking at IGI Finex Securities Limited, took part in a recent evaluation session at NICAT, coming away with a strongly positive assessment of the talent and innovation demonstrated by the startups he reviewed. Kazmi’s involvement adds to a growing list of finance and investment professionals who have engaged directly with NICAT’s cohort of founders, offering a perspective grounded in investment banking rather than venture capital or startup mentorship alone.

Kazmi described being genuinely impressed by the calibre of solutions being built by the young founders at NICAT, pointing specifically to the potential he sees for future collaboration between IGI Finex Securities and select startups from the incubator. His remarks suggested an interest in working more closely with a subset of the ventures he evaluated, with the aim of supporting their growth beyond the current stage of development they are at within the incubator.

NICAT, which operates out of National Aerospace Science and Technology Park in Rawalpindi, has continued to bring in professionals from banking, investment, and venture capital backgrounds to assess the startups moving through its programme, reflecting the incubator’s broader effort to connect its founders with individuals who can offer both capital and industry expertise as ventures progress from early stage development toward commercial scale. The incubator’s focus spans aerospace, aviation, deep tech, and defense technologies, sectors that often require more specialised financial backing given the capital intensive nature of hardware and advanced technology development.

IGI Finex Securities Limited has continued to operate as one of Pakistan’s established investment banking and brokerage firms, with Kazmi’s engagement at NICAT representing a point of connection between the country’s traditional financial services sector and its more recent deep tech and aerospace startup ecosystem. His comments on future collaboration suggest a level of interest that could extend beyond a single evaluation session, potentially opening pathways for selected NICAT startups to access investment banking expertise as they look to raise capital or structure future funding rounds.

The announcement was shared alongside acknowledgements of Ignite National Technology Fund, Ministry Of IT and Telecommunication, NETSOL Technologies, National Aerospace Science and Technology Park, Air University, and Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra, reflecting the institutional network tied to NICAT’s operations. Kazmi’s participation adds to the broader pattern of engagement between NICAT and established professionals across Pakistan’s financial and investment sectors, with the incubator continuing to position itself as a bridge between early stage deep tech founders and the capital and expertise needed to help their ventures scale.
