Ignite National Technology Fund has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bilişim Vadisi to strengthen technology ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, joining hands to promote collaboration across startups, talent exchange, gaming, artificial intelligence, emerging technologies and innovation. The agreement was signed under the backing of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom on the Pakistani side and the Republic of Türkiye’s Ministry of Industry and Technology on the Turkish side, giving the collaboration formal institutional support from both governments.
The agreement outlines four key areas of collaboration between the two organisations, covering joint innovation programmes, startup exchange, knowledge sharing, and B2B and global technology events. This combination of focus areas suggests the collaboration is intended to operate across multiple levels, from direct programme collaboration and founder exchange to broader knowledge transfer and commercial engagement opportunities between the two countries’ technology ecosystems.
As part of the agreement, the two organisations will also explore startup exchange opportunities in coordination with CEGA, the Center of Excellence in Gaming and Animation, which operates under Ignite in both Lahore and Karachi. Bringing CEGA into the scope of the collaboration points to gaming and animation as a specific area of shared interest between the two countries, an industry where Türkiye has built a notable presence internationally, giving Pakistani founders in this sector a potential channel for exposure to Turkish gaming and animation expertise and networks.
Bilişim Vadisi, which translates to Technology Valley, operates as part of Türkiye’s broader push to build out its domestic technology and innovation infrastructure, giving Ignite a counterpart institution with a comparable mandate to draw on for this collaboration. Agreements of this kind between national technology funds and innovation hubs in different countries have become an increasingly common tool for expanding the international reach of domestic startup ecosystems, offering founders access to networks and opportunities beyond what purely domestic programming can provide.
The signing of this MoU adds to Ignite’s broader pattern of pursuing international collaboration agreements aimed at connecting Pakistan’s startup ecosystem with counterparts in other countries, with further details of joint programming under the Ignite-Bilişim Vadisi partnership expected to emerge as both organisations begin implementing the specific initiatives outlined in the agreement.
